Christopher Columbus Charter School (CCCS) is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is committed to helping students achieve academic, social, and behavioral success through individualized instruction, collaboration, and high expectations.
This position may serve either our elementary or middle school program and offers the opportunity to manage a small caseload while working closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families. Hours are 8 AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday on-site.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide specialized instruction aligned to students' academic and behavioral needs.
- Manage a small caseload of students and monitor progress toward IEP goals.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are provided.
- Conduct progress monitoring, maintain accurate special education documentation, and prepare reports as required.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
- Support a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.
- Attend required professional development sessions, faculty meetings, and school events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and special education compliance requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working with students in urban or charter school settings preferred.
