Christopher Architecture & Interiors is looking for experienced HR Generalist to join our Birmingham, Alabama studio.

We work in an open studio environment where collaboration between our interior design team and architects is prioritized. The job is full-time, Monday to Friday, in our Birmingham, Alabama office.
HR Generalist Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns
- Support conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment
- Administer employee benefits programs and liaise with providers
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Assist with payroll and bonus review processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies
- Support performance review processes and employee development initiatives
- Coordinate training and professional development opportunities
- Maintain accurate employee records
- Encourage documentation and record-keeping among supervisors
- Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership
- Assist with job postings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation
- Conduct exit interviews
- Collect company property upon departure
- Process final payroll and benefits termination
- Update personnel records and system access for departing employees
- Support knowledge transfer and transition of responsibilities
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a creative or professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Experience in architecture, design, or similar industries
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification
- Experience with ADP software
- Passion for collaboration and teamwork
