Summary: The Clinical Manager is responsible for supporting and promoting the mission, vision and values of the Patient Care Services Department and Roger Williams Medical Center. She/he acts as a resource to both nursing staff and other health care professional to provide continuous quality care. She/he assures quality patient outcomes through the development and implementation of clinical standards, the provision of quality improvement activities, and by devising innovative and cost effective approaches to clinical practice and health care delivery systems.
Education: Must be a graduate of an approved nursing program A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred and demonstrated expertise in his/her clinical specialty
Experience: Two to four years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Previous management experience preferred. Must possess computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office package.
Skills and Abilities: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and tact creating a favorable image in relationship to the supported department Must visibly demonstrate a commitment to customer relations. Requires timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including physicians, patients, families, and co-workers. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have an active RI Registered Nurse Licensure.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Must possess sound dexterity and visual acuity. Requires mental alertness, stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and in emergency situations. Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach without restrictions. Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds using good body mechanics. Must be able to push heavy equipment, gurneys, and wheelchairs. May be exposed to all patient care elements within the hospital setting. Risk of needle punctures. Must meet annual safety training requirements per hospital policy. Some risk of electrical, mechanical and chemical hazards. Exposure to ionizing radiation is possible in the performance of radiographic tests. Exposure is strictly monitored following established guidelines.
