Project Accounting & Compliance Manager

Overview:

Christina is seeking a Project Accounting & Compliance Manager to support the Company’s construction and development projects. This role is a full-service position responsible for day-to-day project accounting, lender funding requirements, loan draws, subcontract administration, filing, invoice tracking, licensure compliance, and insurance compliance—helping ensure projects run smoothly from procurement through closeout.

This position is Exempt. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will interact closely with various internal departments, outside vendors, subcontractors, insurance brokers, and other service providers as needed. This is not a remote position and will be in-person at Christina’s corporate office in Malibu, California, with periodic travel to project sites as required.

Base Compensation range is $75,000 - $85,000 and is commensurate with work experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus subject to personal, department, and corporate performance. Health benefits include 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform project accounting functions, including budget setup support, cost tracking, construction draw administration, reconciliations, and ongoing project reporting;
• Maintain invoice tracking and processing workflows (log, route for approval, track status, maintain detailed supporting documentation, and support timely vendor/subcontractor payment);
• Facilitate subcontractor onboarding and subcontract review support, including tracking required contract deliverables, exhibits, and compliance items;
• Ensure licensure compliance: verify contractor/subcontractor licenses, track expirations/renewals, and maintain organized compliance files;
• Manage insurance compliance: collect, review, and track certificates of insurance, endorsements, and required coverages; coordinate with brokers and support claims documentation as needed;
• Track, organize, and file project records (contracts, insurance, invoices, lien releases/waivers, and vendor files) to ensure audit-ready documentation;
• Communicate professionally with internal teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to resolve discrepancies and keep processes moving; and
• Other construction/development and accounting operational support as requested.

Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of experience in construction project accounting, project administration, AP/invoice processing, or construction compliance/insurance coordination;
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Yardi Voyager;
• Associate degree or higher (or equivalent relevant experience).
