Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Diagnose issues with HVAC equipment such as boilers, chillers, ammonia refrigeration units, and appliances using tools like ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including filter replacements, system calibrations, and component inspections to ensure peak performance.
- Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and plumbing diagrams to execute installations or repairs accurately.
- Perform welding and equipment repair tasks as needed to restore system functionality or upgrade existing setups.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system conditions for compliance and future reference.
- Communicate effectively with clients about system operations or needed repairs while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), with a strong mechanical background.
- Knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC system installation and property maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration cycles.
- Hands-on experience with furnace repair, heat pump instation, welding techniques, and equipment repair.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as multimeters confidently for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing field service procedures for HVAC/R systems and general property maintenance tasks.
