RN Specialist - Infusion Center - Fields

Christie Clinic's department of Infusion Center is seeking a full-time RN Specialist between the hours of Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at the Fields clinic, with no night or weekend requirements.

Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Possession of, or in the process of obtaining, an Illinois State Registered Nurse License, CPR, and ACLS are required.

JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. 

• Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient. 

• Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider. 

• Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.

• Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.

• Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.

• Administer IV’s for Chemotherapy and/or Phlebotomy.

• Perform related work as directed, by coordinator and as required. 

• Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit.

• Maintain relevant IV supplies, medications, and office supplies for department effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates or better in Nursing or related field.

• Proficient IV skills.

• RN

• CPR

• ACLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Acute care experience

• Professional nursing experience

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds.  Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.         

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and bodily fluids.  Requirements may include working irregular hours.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
