What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Registration Check In - Business Services - University position at Christie Clinic?
Christie Clinic's department of Business Services is seeking a full-time Central Registration Check In candidate at the University clinic from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include greeting patients upon arrival, reviewing and updating demographic, insurance information, collecting co-payments and prepayments at time of service. This position also serves as a liaison between patients, patient financial representatives and medical support staff.
Qualifications:JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
- Checks in patients following, Check in Front Office standard work.
- Reviews and updates demographic and insurance information.
- Provides appropriate forms and obtains required signatures.
- Collect Copayment and or Prepayments at time of service.
- Post payments for cash, check and bank card transactions.
- Daily balance of cash drawer and keep appropriate change.
- Completes Pre-Registration of appointments on facilities Department Appointments Report (DAR).
- Works at or provides coverage for the limited mobility/information desk.
- Keys claims and post associated payments for such items as: Retail sales, hearing aid sales and form fees.
- Participates and leads daily department huddles.
- Keep clinical areas informed of patient arrivals. Maintain open communication with clinical areas.
- Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
- Maintain work area and waiting room in neat and orderly manner.
- Receives cross training and provides back up coverage to any and all tasks within department.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
- Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstration of excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a medical, insurance or financial office setting

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in the Central Registration, Clinical or Facility front desk areas. Involves frequent contact with patients and possible contact with communicable diseases. Requires working flexible, irregular and possible weekend hours.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
