Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Business Office Manager to lead the administrative and financial operations within a healthcare setting. Duties
- Oversee all aspects of medical office operations, including scheduling, billing, coding, and patient records management using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix.
- Manage fiscal responsibilities including budgeting, financial management, accounts receivable/payable, and revenue cycle processes to maximize practice profitability.
- Supervise administrative staff and clinical personnel, providing leadership in human resources functions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare privacy standards while managing medical records and documentation accuracy.
- Coordinate with clinical teams on practice management issues related to medical terminology, acute care procedures, managed care contracts, utilization management, and hospital or clinic experience requirements.
- Implement policies for office management that promote efficiency and high-quality patient care while maintaining adherence to JCAHO standards and other accreditation requirements.
- Oversee the use of EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for documentation accuracy, billing processes, and reporting.
- Facilitate communication between departments to streamline workflows related to medical administrative support and healthcare management initiatives.
- Monitor clinic performance metrics and prepare reports to inform strategic decisions aimed at improving operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administration with a strong background in fiscal management and practice oversight.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading administrative or clinical teams within a healthcare environment.
- Extensive knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and medical records management protocols.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology across various specialties including nursing, dental care, acute care, critical care, hospital settings or veterinary practices is highly desirable.
- Expertise in budgeting, financial management, revenue cycle processes, managed care contracts and utilization management.
- Experience working with diverse healthcare settings such as clinics, hospitals or dental offices is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
