Position: Food Service Assistant I
Location: Christiana Hospital – Newark Campus
Schedule: Casual (8 hours/week minimum)
Shifts: Available to work shifts - 6:30am - 9:30pm. Rotating – 6:30AM–3:00PM, 10:30AM–6:0PM, 3:00PM–9:00PM
 

Must be available to work a combination of all shifts listed above. Required to work every other weekend and holiday rotation.

As a Food Service Assistant I, you’ll play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals and warm service to our patients. From assembling trays to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, your work will directly support healing and comfort.

• 
  Assemble patient meal trays with accuracy and care
  
• 
  Prepare trays for modified diets and understand dietary restrictions
  
• 
  Operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and efficiently
  
• 
  Maintain cleanliness and follow infection prevention protocols
  
•

This position has a starting rate of $17.80 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.90 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.93 per hour.



This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
