ChristianaCare's Outpatient Neurology at the Health Care Center, Newark seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented and adaptable Access Coordinator with strong organizational and communication skills who can work independently and on a team.



Outpatient Neurology- HCC at Newark is located at 200 Hygeia Drive in Newark, Delaware. At ChristianaCare’s outpatient neurology practice, our neurologists partner closely with patients to create individualized treatment plans that support living well with neurological conditions. Our team is trained to help patients effectively manage current symptoms, recognize and address new concerns, and receive the appropriate treatment at every stage of their care. Through ongoing monitoring and a compassionate, collaborative approach, we are committed to helping each patient achieve the best quality of life possible.

The Access Coordinator is responsible for obtaining benefits and precertification’s/prior authorizations for Onabotulinum Toxins, most office procedure orders, and PET Scans.

Duties / Responsibilities;

• 
  Monitor and prioritize incoming patient orders.
  
• 
  Verify patient insurance benefits.
  
• 
  Obtain authorization via payor website or by phone.
  
• 
  Evaluate portions to be paid and notify the patient of their deductibles and co-insurance amounts.
  
• 
  Contact the referring office to obtain any referrals required.
  
• 
  Gather information needed to complete the prior authorization and contact patient as needed to obtain additional information.
  
• 
  Update patients on reason for denial.
  
• 
  Regularly follow up with the status of authorization.
  
• 
  Initiate appeals for denied authorizations.
  
• 
  Respond to questions regarding the payor’s medical policy guidelines.
  
• 
  Confirm accuracy of CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis in the patient’s order.
  
• 
  Update Practice of authorization received or denied.
  
• 
  Arrange for medication delivery to the CCHS pharmacy upon authorization approval.
  
• 
  Performs other related duties as required.
  
  
  
  
  

Position Qualifications:

  High School Diploma or equivalent
  
• 
  Minimum 2 years prior authorization experience preferred

Hourly Pay Range: $19.84 - $29.76



This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
