Shift hours:
- Monday to Wednesday
- 8:30am - 9:00pm
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
Responsibilities:
* Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.* Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.* Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.* Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.* Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.* Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.* Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.* Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.* Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.* Maintains patient confidentially.* Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.* Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.* Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.* Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.* Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.Requirements:
* MR Technologist-experience required.* ARRT Registered Technologist required.* ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.* Cerner training required.* Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.* Flexibility in hours is required.* Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.* Ability to work independently.Education Requirements:* Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).* Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire).* State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.* Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.* An Associate's degree is required; candidates are required to attain anAssociatesof Sciencedegree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlinedin the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.* Certification in CPR.* Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.Special Requirements:* State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.* The successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement.
