JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is to assist the Executive Director in creating fundraising plans for the Christian Service Center (CSC). This position reports directly to the Executive Director (ED).
ANTICIPATED DUTIES
1. Writing grants to obtain funding for CSC’s programs
2. Developing written materials and brochures
3. Updating CSC’s website as needed, posting updates on CSC’s social platforms
4. Developing with the ED annual fundraising plans
5. Planning and implementing fundraising events: Abilene Gives, Summer Appeal, Annual Fundraiser Luncheon and Year End Appeal
6. Collaborating with the ED in preparing thank you letters/envelopes to donors
7. Writing and sending e-mail newsletters through Constant Contact
8. Assisting as needed on special projects for the ED
9. Networking with other agencies when needed
QUALITIES NEEDED FOR DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
1. Strong commitment to Jesus as Lord
2. Good people skills -- a team player who knows how to deal with a variety of personalities by listening and effective communication with the CSC staff, volunteers, CSC Board, donors and partner agency staff members
3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
4. Confidence in public speaking
This position will work on-site and will be approximately 32 hours a week. Pay will be dependent on experience.
