Job Summary:
Join our supportive team as a Part-Time Respite Provider/Caregiver in a home and community-based setting. We serve clients ranging in age from 2 years old through the teenage years, with opportunities available across the Madison, Waunakee, Mt. Horeb, Monona, and Stoughton areas. In this role, you will provide supervision, guidance, and individualized support to children and teens with developmental disabilities, autism, or other support needs.
As a Respite Provider, you’ll help create a safe, encouraging, and structured environment that promotes independence, confidence, and overall well-being. This is a paid, part-time/full-time position offering flexible scheduling and a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a young person’s life.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision, support, and positive engagement for children clients
- Assist with daily routines such as personal care, hygiene reminders, dressing, and mobility support as needed
- Encourage independence, appropriate social skills, and healthy habits
- Support children with cognitive or developmental challenges, including autism or related conditions
- Prepare or assist with meals and snacks according to dietary needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment
- Observe and document care activities and report concerns to supervisors or families
- Follow all care plans, safety guidelines, and confidentiality standards
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, youth programs, or caregiving environments is preferred
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to build positive rapport with children
- Strong communication skills and a calm, supportive approach
- Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols
- CPR, Mandated Reporter, or related certifications are a plus (training will be provided if you do not have have)
- Must meet employment eligibility requirements verified through E-Verify
