Customer Service Associate

Overview: As a growing 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, CRCI is always looking for new talented individuals who can be an addition to its efforts. It is CRCI’s Management's desire that each person involved with the organization (paid or not paid) has a burden for the lost, the sick, and the suffering. It is also important that all staff recognize that they are a representative of CRCI, and the actions will affect the community's outlook upon it. Staff is a representation of the CRCI program, and it will be expected for them to conduct themselves in a manner that would always promote and elevate the image of CRCI to the community. Any behavior that promotes a negative image of the organization is unacceptable.

Position Summary: The Customer Service Technician serves as the first point of contact for customers and donors, creating an exceptional shopping experience while supporting the mission and values of Christian Recovery Centers, Inc. (CRCI). This position is responsible for all front-of-house operations, including customer service, cashiering, merchandising, maintaining store appearance, and assisting with donations and sales floor activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Service

• Greet every customer and donor in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting shoppers in locating merchandise.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Promote CRCI's mission and create a positive shopping experience for all guests.

Cashier and Register Operations

• Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
• Balance cash drawers and follow established cash-handling procedures.
• Issue receipts, process approved returns, and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.

Sales Floor Operations

• Stock shelves, racks, and displays with merchandise.
• Merchandise products in an appealing and organized manner.
• Rotate inventory and ensure products are displayed according to store standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the sales floor.
• Assist with pricing and tagging merchandise as directed.

Donation and Customer Assistance

• Assist donors with unloading and receiving donations when needed.
• Communicate donation guidelines and accepted items to donors.
• Ensure donated items are handled safely and efficiently.

Store Maintenance

• Keep aisles, displays, and front-of-house areas clean and free from hazards.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including sweeping, dusting, and organizing merchandise.
• Ensure fitting rooms, restrooms, and customer areas remain clean and presentable.

Teamwork and Mission Support

• Work collaboratively with team members, volunteers, and residents.
• Model CRCI's core values in every interaction.
• Attend required meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and support CRCI's mission.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to push, pull, and move merchandise throughout the store.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
