Charlottesville, VA Area Director - Part Time

Christian Medical & Dental Associations
Bristol, TN Part Time
POSTED ON 3/20/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/20/2026
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA AREA DIRECTOR
Target Start Date - July 1st, 2026

As the Charlottesville Area Director, you will provide leadership and direction for a growing ministry serving healthcare students and professionals in the Charlottesville area, including the University of Virginia, Piedmont Community College, and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. This is a part-time ministry role beginning July 1, 2026, focused on cultivating Christ-centered growth, fostering meaningful relationships, and equipping others to live out their faith in healthcare settings. You will play a key role in encouraging spiritual development, building connections across the local healthcare community, and advancing the mission of transforming lives through the Gospel in healthcare. Through discipleship, leadership development, and collaboration, you will help create a thriving and unified ministry that impacts both students and professionals.

What You’ll Do

You will disciple healthcare students and professionals through one-on-one and/or small group meetings that center on personal spiritual growth in Christlikeness, and integration of their faith into their profession. Work as doors open with the students, residents, and healthcare professionals within the medical and nursing training areas at the University of Virginia, Piedmont Community College, and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. Identify, disciple, and pray with student and residents in the local chapter to encourage their discipline to God’s means of grace for spiritual maturation (prayer, God’s Word, worship, fellowship with other Christ-followers, pursuit of holiness) despite the tremendous demands on their time as students. This can be done either individually or in small groups as time allows.

You will Identify, train, and disciple student leaders, advisors, and graduate mentors, and meet with them regularly for discipleship, feedback, and planning and scheduling of events. Help student leaders identify their replacements and transition the ministry to new leaders each year. Facilitate the pairing of interested students with same gender mentors both in their schools and in the community. Encourage local students to develop in regional and national leadership roles and to attend CMDA conferences and mission trips.

You will engage with leaders of local Christian ministries to identify appropriate opportunities for collaboration in health care related outreach, discipling and education. Reach out to new healthcare professionals in the area, and engage them in support of our student and resident activities. Organize one or more annual dinners for local professionals to come together for fellowship and an inspirational message on relevant topics. You will work to grow a unity of vision and partnership in the Charlottesville area (church leaders, ministry leaders, para-church ministry leaders).

You will lead, coordinate and work with the Charlottesville Council on financial development for the CMDA Charlottesville area ministry. The Area Director will participate in the planning and organization of any events the local Council recommends. Send out quarterly newsletters to local healthcare professionals involved in the ministry, all local CMDA members, and former student graduates.

You will be expected to attend the national CMDA Staff Connections Conference each year. As the Area Director, you will be a member of and meet, report to, and pray with the Charlottesville area leadership Council at each meeting. You will work within corporate national CMDA structures and ensure that the Charlottesville area chapter is consistent with the vision, mission, and doctrinal statements of CMDA. This will require regular communication with the CMDA Regional Director and work with them on the development of the annual budget and maintain financial records as required by the CMDA national organization.
