We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Assistant to join our busy dental practice. The successful applicant will have strong computer skills, knowledge of dental terminology, and experience with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Bilingual abilities and prior clinic or dental office experience are highly valued to enhance patient service and office efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service at the front desk
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using dental management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims accurately
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting payments and copayments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing patient correspondence
- Assist with billing processes, including medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) and documentation review
- Support clinic operations by coordinating care plans and facilitating communication between clinical staff and patients
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental office or medical clinic setting is preferred
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD, CPT), insurance verification, and health information management
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (10 key typing)
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Previous experience in medical billing, medical administrative support, or front desk duties in a healthcare environment is desirable
