What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Substitute Teacher, Art position at Christian Heritage School Inc?
We are seeking a Long-Term Substitute Art Teacher to provide instruction and classroom continuity during a faculty member's FMLA leave. The substitute will maintain a structures, engaging studio environment while guiding students in developing artistic skills, creativity and appreciation for visual arts within a Christ-centered learning framework. The long term subsitute teacher will instruct middle school and high school art classes, please refer to CHS Upper School Curriculum guide.
Long Term Substitute Teacher Duties
- Following lesson plans/curriculum
- Potential need for lesson plan creation, would work with other teachers for support
- Provide instruction in areas of drawing, painting, design and mixed media
- Grading/grade entering
- A clear understanding and acceptance of basic Biblical principles
- An understanding of and adherence to the school’s Statement of Faith
- Must provide current background check
Education and Experience
- College degree in Art, Art Education or related field strongly preferred
- Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred.
- Background in studio art disciplines such as drawing, painting, printmaking or design is highly desirable.
- Confident interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experienced with using technology in a classroom environment; Google programs
- Remarkable professionalism and solid work ethic
- Detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills
Assignment Period
- Anticipated start: August 17, 2026
- Anticipated end: October 9, 2026
Pay Rate for Assignment
- Long-term teaching assignment: $150/full day
