Educational Assistant / Paraprofessional

Part Time ~25 hours weekly, $17.00 hourly

Monday - Wednesday & Friday, 8:30 am - 1:30 pm | Thursday, 9:00 am - 1:30 pm

Estimated Hours:  172 school days 8 Professional in-service days 5 Holidays= 185 working days

Seeking an Educational Assistant to support teachers throughout their daily classroom activities inside and outside (recess/lunch)  the classroom. Duties include helping schedule and implement programs in accordance with the curriculum as well as general classroom and clerical duties such as maintaining a clean and safe environment or printing and preparing educational material.

Essential Functions

• Assist the teacher in preparing materials and equipment for direct instructional activity, including locating, copying, collating, distributing, and/or grouping materials to support instructional activities planned by the teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by the teacher.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground or field, and gymnasium.
• Assist with bulletin boards and decorations for instructional purposes and for special events.
• Perform assigned non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack time, trips to the bathroom, or class change.
• Serve as a source of information and assist any substitute teacher assigned to the class.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in school environment and community.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with Principal, supervising teacher, students, parents, staff, and community.
• Participate in professional learning activities which align with school improvement goals.
• Participate in staff development opportunities provided by CHS as required.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude toward work assignment.
• Remain flexible in times of changing placement, delivery model (i.e. distance learning), or assignment.
• Accept responsibility for the work assigned and accept constructive criticism.
• Effectively observe assigned work hours.
• Maintain a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.
• Follow the daily schedule as prescribed.
• Adjust to work assignments and/or schedule changes.
