We are currently recruiting a Mental Health Technician to provide services within our STRONG program. STRONG stands for Successfully Treating and Reaching Our Next Generation. This name was chosen because it expresses the unique value of each child that our program and organization serves, acknowledging that each child deserves a chance at a brighter future. The ideal candidate would be willing to provide mental health counseling services within a positive, Christian work environment. 


This is a full-time position with standard hours of 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Employees in this role are eligible for the Christian Family Solutions full benefits package, which includes:

What you will be doing

The primary role of the Mental Health Technician is to provide de-escalation services when challenging behaviors arise, provide general client care, and participate in clinic projects to improve professional skills and clinic operations. In addition, the Mental Health Technician will occasionally facilitate psycho-educational groups for clients admitted into our program while complying to safety and educational requirements in a professional manner. This position will also participate in clinical supervision meetings for professional and team improvement, as directed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma required.
  • One-year experience working with children with severe emotional/ behavioral disorders.
  • Active member of a WELS or ELS or confessional Lutheran church preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high degree of responsibility in maintaining confidentiality in all matters pertaining to work.
  • Previous coursework or training on children with mental health/emotional disorders.
  • Personal aptitude and life experience which suggest aptitude to provide positive and effective services for children with mental health disorders.
  • Willingness to support the mission of Christian Family Solutions and uphold a biblical worldview in the clinical setting.
