The Middle School VLA Math and Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-based virtual instruction in mathematics and science to students in grades 6–8. The teacher will create a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging online learning environment that fosters student growth, critical thinking, and academic success. This role requires a strong commitment to innovation, effective use of technology, and building meaningful relationships with students and families in a virtual setting.

- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in Middle School Mathematics and/or Science (with appropriate endorsements as required by the state).
- Experience teaching middle school students, with preference for virtual/online instruction experience.
- Strong technology skills and the ability to integrate digital learning platforms into instruction.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues in a virtual learning environment.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Full-time, in-person position based at the Virtual Learning Academy campus.
- Instruction is delivered virtually to students; however, the teacher is expected to report on-site daily.
- Requires reliable use of instructional technology and online communication tools.
- Occasional in-person professional meetings, training sessions, or district events may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Appropriate Kentucky Certification
- Must meet the requirements of a criminal record check as specified by Kentucky State Law
- Must meet health requirements as specified in the district personnel policy
