Special Education Teacher (LBD)

Christian County Public Schools is now hiring a dynamic and experienced Special Education Teacher for our Special Education Program in Hopkinsville, KY. This is a full-time position with benefits.

***IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SPECIAL EDUCATION DEGREE, you must have a bachelor's degree and be willing to get into a Master's program to obtain a master's degree in special education.

Key Responsibilities:
Implementing educational programs in a classroom

• Maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children
• Creating educational games and activities for children
• Developing age-appropriate communication skills for children
• Reporting to the Director of Special Education on progress with students and their families
• Communicating with parents regularly about their children's progress

Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children in a classroom, home environment, or other setting preferred, but not required.

• A genuine interest and passion for working with children of all ages
• A flexible schedule that allows availability between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend hours are required. Some flexibility with days of week and time of day required.
• Some experience in the field of autism is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
• A commitment to professional development, training, and training plans. We want you to stay sharp and learn new skills!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,156.00 - $43,255.00 per year
