Environmental Public Health Clerk

Overview

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting environmental public health in our community? The Christian County Health Department is seeking a dedicated Environmental Public Health Clerk to join our team

Responsibilities

• In this dynamic role, you will be the primary contact point for members of the public, local business owners, and contractors navigating our array of environmental health programs.
• Key responsibilities include managing customer inquiries, processing permits, maintaining records, and providing administrative support to our environmental health team. If you love working with the public, solving puzzles, paying close attention to detail, and seeing something new every day, we would love to hear from you.
• The EPHC position is primarily an office position working 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday, with occasional in-county travel to assist with events and training. On rare occasion, overnight travel may be needed for in or out of state conferences or training.
• The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, well organized, dependable, work well under pressure, successfully multi-task and have excellent customer service and computer skills. High school diploma required, Associates or Bachelor's Degree with a business or science background preferred.

• Starting salary $17.50 to $19.62 per hour, depending on education and experience. Valid driver's license and background check will be required before hire.
