Cherokee Christian School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for our Primary School, tentatively needed October through December.
This position will provide consistent classroom instruction and leadership during an extended teacher absence. Unlike a traditional substitute role, the long-term substitute will take responsibility for the day-to-day instruction and preparation necessary to maintain continuity for our students.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching and supporting 1st and 2nd grade students
- Providing instruction in reading and math
- Preparing for daily lessons and classroom activities
- Following established curriculum, lesson plans, and academic expectations
- Grading and providing feedback on student work as needed
- Managing the classroom and maintaining established routines
- Communicating and working closely with Primary School administration and staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous elementary classroom teaching experience
- Experience teaching reading and math at the 1st or 2nd grade level
- Teaching degree or certification preferred, but not required
- Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting the mission and Christian environment of Cherokee Christian School
