Development Director - JESUS Film Harvest PartnersPosition Overview
The Development Director is responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing annual and long-term revenue plans. This position will direct and manage the efforts of Development staff, as well as develop actions to acquire, cultivate and retain donors.
This salaried position is based in Olathe, KS office. It involves regular (5-6 times per year) out-of-state travel. May require occasional international travel.
Candidates must share the organization’s conservative Christian values.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: create and implement an annual and long-term development plan and strategy to achieve annual and long-term budgets; develop and implement an acquisition strategy to grow donor base and increase recurring giving.
Team Leadership: collaborate in the development and implementation of marketing and public relations strategies. Provide direction and coordination of development ‘products’, lead development staff, and liaison with outside foundations and groups.
Donor Relations and Communications: coordinate appropriate follow-up processes to improve collection rates, oversee regular donor communication, and lead by example in managing a select portfolio of donors and prospects.
Reporting and Compliance: oversee donor reporting processes.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, strategic marketing, fundraising, non-profit management or related field
- 5 –10 years of development leadership experience
- Demonstrated success cultivating and securing significant gifts ($25,000 )
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective fundraising and partnership strategies
- Knowledge of digital and non-digital development resources, products, practices and tools
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging donors, board members, and other partners
- Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills
- Ability to make appropriate and compelling “asks” of constituents
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to research and analyze data, data mining from CRM system
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and vision
Essential Job Functions:
(Including but not limited to)
- Manage all details for weekend and midweek programming in the elementary environment
- Recruit, develop, and lead elementary volunteer team
- Obtain and manage curriculum preparation for the elementary environment
- Coordinate with the Children’s Ministry Director and staff on yearly calendar planning
- Participate in all events related to the mission, vision and values of Pathways Kids
- Write and edit email communication to families regarding events, registrations and changes in schedule and programming
- Attend monthly evening team meetings
- Perform data entry pertaining to elementary volunteer scheduling and family updates
- Engage in stage team teaching in elementary environment
- Plan and implement technical programming for elementary environment
- Lead team huddles
Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Spiritual maturity and commitment to a life of integrity informed by the Bible
- Strong communication, administrative, and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Entry level desktop publishing knowledge
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task, using good time management skills
- Experience with elementary age preferred
