The Lead Pastor is responsible for shepherding, preaching, vision casting, and leading the church in a growing community. As one of the elders, the Lead Pastor is tasked with cultivating a collaborative environment within the elder body and developing growing leaders.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Preaching and teaching
- Shepherd congregation, staff, volunteers, leaders, and ministry teams.
- Provide pastoral care to the congregation which includes but not limited to counseling, hospital visits, and other needs
- Work with elder body in cultivating vision for the future
- Perform other duties as needed
- Maintain a relationship with God that you enjoy and has influence over your life, appetites, and understanding
- Love, nourish and enjoy your wife
- Lead your family with gravity, gusto, and gladness
- Possess a proven track record of effective leadership and team development
- Be in agreement with the doctrinal position of the church (consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000)
- Ability to teach God’s Word effectively
- Ability to plan and implement vision
- Ability to clearly articulate a position
- Proven organizational and leadership skills
