What are the responsibilities and job description for the Varsity Girls Golf Head Coach position at Christian Academy - Indiana Campus?
Scope
The head coach interacts directly with coaches, parents and student-athletes as a representative of Christian Academy. He/she is to live and coach in such a way so that student-athletes are led to righteousness in every area of life, and in particular their athletic development. The purpose of this position is to help the varsity head coach oversee all coaches and discipleship for the specific sport and ensure the overall program development from intramural to the varsity level.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
- A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
- A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
- Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith
The ideal candidate shall possess:
- Strong commitment to the CAI Mission Statement and athletic philosophy
- Ability to encourage partnerships with parents, coaches, students and other schools

Previous coaching experience, preferably as a head coach.

Playing experience in teh sport is preferred.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
1. Coach from a biblical perspective and strive to be a true reflection of Jesus
2. Create a winning environment through positivity and daily encouragement
3. Teach athletes to perform sound, safe, fundamental techniques
4. Uphold the Heart of a Warrior characteristics (Confidence, Accountability and Integrity) and instill other characteristics like honesty, loyalty, respect and unity
5. Create and communicate a Transformational Purpose Statement
6. Abide by the responsibilities outline in the Coaches Handbook
7. Recruit and hire competent and professional assistant coaches
8. Follow all CAI School, CAI Athletics, IHSAA and National Federation rules
9. Engage in clear communication with all program stakeholders
10. Oversee and delegate duties across all levels of program
11. Encourage athletes to participate in additional sports/activities
12. Inspect and maintain inventory and storage of all program equipment
Outcomes
- Athletes instructed in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success based on the Christian Academy Athletic Handbook
- Christ-like relationships with students, parents, assistant coaches and administration
- Clear verbal and written communication with students, parents, assistant coaches and administration
- Student athletes will receive instruction that leads to the formation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence
- Recruit, hire, retain, and develop a competent and professional staff that supports excellence from the Athletics Department
Reporting Relationship
Head Coach reports directly to and will be evaluated annually by the Athletic Director.
