What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multifamily Investment Sales Associate position at Christensen Group?
Christensen Group is seeking a driven professional to join our multifamily investment sales team serving apartment owners, investors and developers throughout Oregon and Washington.
This opportunity is well suited for someone who is ambitious, entrepreneurial and interested in building a long-term career in commercial real estate.
You may already be a licensed real estate broker who has begun working with investors or small multifamily properties. You may have experience in residential brokerage, wholesaling, business development, recruiting, fundraising or another sales-oriented field. You may also be earlier in your career and looking for the right place to learn the business.
Prior commercial real estate experience is not required.
What matters most is your ability to build relationships, create opportunities, stay consistent and take ownership of your results.
Multifamily investment sales is a relationship-driven business. Success comes from understanding owners, knowing the market, creating opportunities and becoming a trusted advisor over time.
This role is designed to develop into an independent book of business.
The goal is not simply to support existing transactions. You will learn how to identify prospective clients, originate relationships, evaluate multifamily assets, win assignments and ultimately build a durable client base of your own.
You will work directly with an established multifamily investment sales team while developing expertise within an assigned market and growing your own pipeline.
• Develop relationships with multifamily property owners, investors and developers
• Prospect for new business through direct outreach, research, referrals and relationship development
• Identify ownership and transaction opportunities within assigned markets
• Participate in property valuations, underwriting and market analysis
• Assist with listing presentations and business-development pitches
• Support the preparation and execution of property marketing campaigns
• Track market activity, ownership changes, sales and development trends
• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective and existing clients
• Participate in client meetings, negotiations and transaction execution
• Build a long-term pipeline of prospective clients and future assignments
Investment sales rewards people who are comfortable creating their own opportunities.
Strong candidates tend to be:
• Highly motivated and goal-oriented
• Comfortable initiating conversations with people they do not know
• Persistent when results are not immediate
• Competitive and motivated by measurable progress
• Curious about real estate, investing and financial analysis
• Organized and disciplined with follow-up
• Coachable and eager to improve
• Comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative team
• Able to stay productive without constant supervision
• Interested in building something over the long term rather than simply completing assigned tasks
An active real estate license is preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
One of the greatest challenges for professionals entering investment sales is learning how to turn effort into a repeatable business-development process.
Our team provides hands-on support designed to shorten that learning curve, including:
• Business-development and prospecting strategy
• Direct coaching and mentorship
• Database, Calling Software
• Multifamily underwriting and property valuation
• Market research and ownership intelligence
• Listing presentations and client strategy
• Professional marketing support
• Transaction management and execution
• Negotiation exposure
• Territory development and pipeline strategy
• Direct experience working on active multifamily transactions
We are especially interested in speaking with licensed agents who have already begun building a real estate business but are looking for stronger mentorship, infrastructure and support to grow into investment sales.
We are equally open to candidates from outside commercial real estate who have demonstrated initiative, resilience and success in a relationship-driven or performance-based environment.
Please submit your application through LinkedIn.
After applying, we also invite you to call 503-577-7172 and leave a voicemail of no more than two minutes.
Tell us:
• Who you are
• Why multifamily investment sales interests you
• What you believe you would bring to the team
• Why we should meet with you
Think of it as your first business-development call.
There is no perfect script, and prior commercial real estate experience is not required. We are interested in how you communicate, how you present yourself and how you make the case for an opportunity.
Applicants who complete the phone introduction will receive priority consideration.
- If you are looking for a career where your growth is closely tied to the relationships you build, the opportunities you create and the effort you put into developing your business, we would welcome the conversation.
