Position SummaryCDC is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead two immediate construction projects in the Rochester market.
The successful candidate will take ownership of each project’s schedule, budget, subcontractor coordination, documentation, quality, and closeout. This is a hands-on role requiring regular field presence, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to identify and resolve issues without waiting for direction.
Responsibilities- Manage assigned projects from preconstruction and subcontractor buyout through completion and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and procurement plans.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, design professionals, and ownership.
- Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, payment applications, change orders, and project documentation.
- Maintain a consistent field presence to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance with the contract documents.
- Lead project meetings and communicate clearly regarding schedule, cost, procurement, and outstanding risks.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues affecting project performance.
- Deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and consistent with company quality standards.
- At least seven years of commercial construction and/or residential experience, including direct responsibility for independently managing projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, subcontractor management, and building systems.
- Demonstrated experience with scheduling, job-cost reporting, forecasting, procurement, change orders, and project closeout.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction-management, scheduling, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience with multifamily, hospitality, student housing, mixed-use, or commercial construction preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Base salary of $80,000–$140,000, based on experience.
