Corpus Christi School in Wethersfield, CT, is seeking a part-time Physical Education teacher. Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic growth and develops students’ PE skills. The candidate should be competent at instructing students the PE curriculum. In addition, the candidate must be able to assist students who may need additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
- Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
- Encourage children to develop self-help skills and independence.
- Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs and initiate referrals when necessary.
- Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school’s behavioral policies.
- Maintain positive communication with families through newsletters, daily updates, and as-needed outreach.
- Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum of 1 year teaching experience.
- Strong understanding of student developmental stages.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate PE lessons.
