What You'll Do
As an Activities Aide, you'll help plan and lead engaging programs that encourage residents to stay active, social, and connected. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with daily recreational, social, and therapeutic activities
- Encourage residents to participate in activities based on their interests and abilities
- Prepare activity rooms, supplies, and equipment before programs
- Announce upcoming activities and escort residents to and from events
- Assist residents with crafts, ceramics, games, parties, movies, and special events
- Help create seasonal decorations and activity displays
- Accompany residents on community outings when scheduled
- Deliver mail, flowers, and personal items to residents and read mail upon request
- Ensure resident safety during transportation and activities
- Supervise activities as directed by the Activities Department
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care or working with older adults is a plus
- Artistic, creative, or recreational activity experience is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic personality
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
