What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Christ Lutheran Preschool?
Familiarity with and an understanding of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Minimum Standards are a plus.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.
- At least two years of work experience in a licensed child care center is preferred for an Assistant Teacher, required for a Lead Teacher.
- CPR and First Aid certification (can be completed while employed).
- Annual flu, Tdap vaccine every 5 years, pre-employment physical prior to working with children. COVID-19 vaccine/booster also required.
- Can plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons. Can guide children through redirection, praise and encouragement and interact positively and professionally with children, parents and co-workers.
- Implements program schedule for the classroom including outdoor time, meals, snacks, nap, toileting/diapering and special activities.
- Must be Christian by affirmation and example. Willingness to share and model principles of Christian faith when working with children.
- Commitment and ability to continuing professional education as required by licensing.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Able to work a full-time shift, 40 hours per week, year-round.

We are currently in need of Assistant Teachers. Must be available to work current hours of 7:30am-5:30 pm Monday-Friday. Starting rate of pay ranges from $13.50-$15.50 per hour depending on level of education and experience. This position is eligible for all employee benefits.
