PURPOSE:
Provide high quality childcare for early childhood and/or elementary age childcare while parents are engaged in Christian formation experiences in the building.
Position Focus
Early childhood (0-5 years of age) and/or elementary age (grades 1-5), their parents and volunteers.
Supervisory Relationships And Staff Partnerships
Reports to: Childrens Ministry Director/Childrens Coordinator
Hours
Varies. Part of a pool of childcare workers that are invited to work as openings are posted. Sunday mornings are required and Tuesday mornings and every other Wednesday mornings are available; as well as, occasional evenings for special events and holidays. Our immediate need right now is for Sunday mornings, Tuesday Mornings and the 1 st and 3 rd Wednesday mornings of each month. Opportunities to work at week-long camps in the summer will also be available.

Position Responsibilities
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to start time of adult experience/service
- Greet parents cheerfully
- Help check in children on computer system
- Listen and write down parental instructions for child
- Refuse to accept children unless one other caregiver is present
- Care for child with high interaction and high observation
- Facilitate in every way possible for child to experience the love of God
- Teach or assist the teacher/leader with Bible story, craft, games, music, etc.
- Fully engage and/or model the activity for the children with the teacher/leader
- Pick up toys frequently. Put used toys in dirty bin for washing
- Change diapers according to manual procedures- only if soiled or heavily saturated
- Stay in the designated room with child/children unless given permission by director/associate
- Release children to parent with receipt, informing them of childs experience.
- Clean up room, used sheets, binders, turn off lights upon leaving
- Be familiar with evacuation procedures
- Abide by Christ Church protection policy
- Respect Christ Church facility and space (no sitting on counters, running in halls, inappropriate language, etc.)
- Skill and experience in the care of children
- Ability to work well with others
- Computer skills helpful
- Able to play on the ground or pick up a child
- Seeks to promote clean and safe environment
- Fulfills background screening requirements
- Lift 30 pounds

- Experience in elementary age childcare, babysitting, nannying, mothering of other childcare facilities
- College level early childhood and/or elementary coursework a plus
- Christian church participation/affiliation encouraged
