Children’s Ministry Assistant

Function: Program Staff

 

PURPOSE:

To provide administrative support for the Children’s ministry programs at Christ Church.

 

POSITION FOCUS:

Responsible for providing administrative support to both Early Childhood (ages birth to Kindergarten) and Elementary Ministry (Grades 1 to 5).

 

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to:  Children’s Ministry Directors

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides administrative support including tracking registrations, volunteer tracking, and database administration.
  • Follow-up with new families and registrations.
  • Helps schedule volunteer teams as needed.
  • Schedules events and maintains the ministry calendar.
  • Assists in creating promotional and communication materials.
  • Orders supplies to support curriculum and special events.
  • Attends meetings as requested.
  • Create promotional and final materials for VBS and camps for Early Childhood and Children’s Ministries.
  • Coordinate summer camp check-in and launches.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ministry Overview

  • Create promotional and final materials for VBS and camps for Early Childhood and Children’s Ministries.
  • Create, print and post all signage for weekly and special events for Early Childhood and Children’s Events.
  • Draft, edit and coordinate Family Ministry content for monthly cards.
  • Draft and post Early Childhood and Children’s monthly eNews.
  • Schedule and organize all rooms and resource needs for Early Childhood and Children’s Ministries and Family Ministry events.
  • Create and manage Signups for Children’s and Early Childhood Ministries.
  • Coordinate and monitor event registrations, ensuring smooth processes for families and volunteers.
  • Manage schedules, rooms and resources to support programming and outreach efforts.
  • Draft and edit communications, including newsletters and website updates.
  • Oversee volunteer applications and ensure compliance with safety and participation requirements.
  • Manages money collected for events for Children’s and Early Childhood ministries.
  • Reviews and submits monthly credit card receipts for Children’s Ministry Directors.
  • Manages expense reimbursements for Early Childhood and Children’s Ministries.
  • Manages volunteers’ applications for Early Childhood and Children’s Ministries.
  • Assist with set-up and fill-in for programming if needed.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
