Duties
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, restorations, extractions, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and care
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop personalized treatment plans
- Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment options effectively to patients and team members
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
- Operate dental equipment such as digital X-ray machines for medical imaging while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort
- Manage dental fabrication processes for crowns, bridges, and other prosthetic devices as needed
- Ensure all medical records are accurately updated and maintained in accordance with regulatory standards
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, medical imaging, and dental terminology to support accurate diagnoses and effective treatments
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dentist with current licensing in good standing
- Proven experience in general dentistry within a dental clinic or similar setting; prior dental office experience is highly preferred
- Proficiency with practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is essential for efficient workflow management
- Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry, including working with pediatric patients (pediatrics) and performing pediatric-specific procedures
- Expertise in procedures such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics
- Familiarity with infection control standards, sterilization techniques, and HIPAA compliance regulations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to patients of all ages
- Ability to work efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health conditions
