Duties
- Safely operate commercial dump trucks to haul materials such as gravel, dirt, and debris across construction sites.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on trucks and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with construction utility work by supporting excavation and site grading activities using heavy machinery like loaders, excavators, and water trucks.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a secure work environment.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other team members to schedule deliveries and optimize transportation routes.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, document vehicle conditions, and report any mechanical issues promptly for repairs.
- Support utility locating efforts to ensure underground utilities are identified before excavation begins.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic truck and machinery issues.
- Skilled in construction machinery maintenance, including loaders, excavators, and water trucks.
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations specific to heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform construction site tasks such as grading, utility work, and excavation safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of construction utility work procedures and the use of Caterpillar equipment or similar brands.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and site managers.
