What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Chris and Frank Accident Attorneys?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft a wide variety of legal documents, including complaints, answers motions, subpoenas, notices and amendments.
- Prepare filings such as requests for entry of default, jury fees, case management statements, trial setting conference statements, and ex parte applications.
- Draft supporting documents including declarations, reply briefs and guardian ad litem applications and orders.
- Prepare arbitration-related documents, including demands for arbitration.
- Coordinate service of Summons and Complaint on all defendants.
- Track service progress to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare and file Proofs of Service with the court.
- Identify and resolve service issues, including incorrect addresses and difficulty locating defendants.
- Communicate with private investigators regarding service of difficult-to-find defendants, track progress and make sure invoices are paid.
- Prepare discovery shells for all incoming discovery requests, communicate with clients and obtain verifications.
- Prepare discovery to propound to opposing counsel within 48 hours of receiving an answer, track status of discovery sent/received.
- Communicate with opposing counsel professionally.
- Handle telephone calls with opposing counsel and State and Federal court personnel.
- Conduct legal research requested by attorneys.
- Monitor statutes of limitations and court deadlines, regularly checking the docket for any changes regarding hearings or documents filed by opposing counsel.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
- File documents through state and federal e-filing systems.
- Track and save conformed documents in preparation for litigation.
- Stay up-to-date on team messages and emails to ensure deadlines and tasks are not missed.
- Manage incoming deposition notices and draft outgoing deposition notices.
- Track and monitor the status of all scheduled depositions.
- Communicate with clients to confirm availability and coordinate scheduling.
- Schedule and coordinate pre-deposition calls between clients and attorneys.
- Arrange court reporter services through MAGNA Legal Services.
- Ensure timely cancellation of depositions prior to cutoff deadlines to avoid additional fees.
- Prepare and organize all new case files.
- Set up and manage cases on Filevine.
- Monitor and track case progress to ensure deadlines and milestones are met.
- Draft initial master caption and proof of service.
- Update master caption and proof of service as needed based on communications from opposing counsel.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management as needed.

Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
