Position Summary

The OSP Field Engineer is responsible for field staking of aerial and underground fiber to the home (FTTH) design. This position will determine the design of fiber placement of aerial, buried and underground placement via conduit, manhole systems, risers and building entrances. This position requires 100% travel.

Primary Accountabilities

· Collect field data for aerial, buried, and conduit fiber facilities.

· Determine fiber network routes.

· Serve as the subject matter expert in design -ensure design engineering guidelines and specifications are being followed.

· Assist, train, and lead OSP Field Technicians.

· Organize daily schedule, work independently of supervision, and complete work based on daily targets.

· Successfully meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices.

· Work professionally and safely.

· Communicate with manager, co-workers, and project management team on a daily basis.

· Attend virtual and in-person meetings as needed.

· Professionally represent CHR Solutions and client.

Education:

· High school diploma or GED.

· Associates degree in engineering or related field required; OR 4 years of related experience.

· Strong Understanding of fiber optic design and OSP construction.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Ability to travel 100% with reliable, personal vehicle.

· Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and walk several miles per day.

· Able to ready and interpret drawings, diagrams and maps for fiber facility construction.

· Ability to follow company procedures and guidelines.

· Proficiency working with a tablet and computer.

· Ability to think critically and demonstrate problem solving.

· Strong organization and task management skills.

Preferred:

· Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

· Understanding of RUS Codes and contracts.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
