Job Summary
Speech & Language Pathologists for Chowchilla Elementary School District to work for the District in Chowchilla, California. Consult w/ parents, gen. ed. classroom teach., other specialists re. stdt. needs. Screen, assess, Dx, id. children with various types of comm. disorders to accord w/ procedures outlined in IDEA MPSE prep. rel. mat. Dev. IEPs for each child in program in coop. w/ parents school staff. Maintain accurate records rprts. for each child in program incl. Dx info., goals objectives, pupil prog., pertinent conf. info. involving parents other pros. Prep. maintain records, rprts., files, docs. as req. by District Madera/Mariposa SELPA admin. policies, state fed. laws and regs. Provide approp. in-service to site staff for assigned children. Coord. plan work of IAs or other parapros. assigned to prog. Provide Tx in accord w/ needs of selected stdts. of caseload. Uphold confid. guidelines pert. to stdts. families. Supervise stdt. out-of-classroom activities as dir. to ensure safety. Mon. stdt. achievement thru periodic, ongoing assessment adjust instruction in resp. to stdt. data. Act as resource for other school personnel and staff in matters rel. to field of Speech Pathology Audiology. Dev. dissem. Tx sched. Make approp. ref. for stdts. w/ Dx disorders. Mon. sched. to assure cont. effective deliv. of srvcs. to part. schools. Maintain pro. comp. thru part. in in-service edu. activities provided by the District in self-dir. pros. growth activities. Comm. w/ staff, district personnel, pub., agency reps. Plan imp. speech lang. remed. progs., admin. assessments, form goals objectives for stdts. placed in speech prog. Del. timely rpts. records. Supervise pupils for out-of-classroom activities. Part. in refl. convos. Demo. an aptitude for working w/ caring for stdts. Little domestic travel may be involved. May undergo background checks.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must have Bach. in any field and a Clinical or Rehabilitative Services – Language, Speech, and Hearing Credential. Alternatively, must have PHD in Speech Language Pathology.
