Job Summary
Job Summary
The Nutrition Specialist plans and manages the District’s Master Menu for students and staff to ensure compliance with federal child nutrition guidelines. Monitors nutrient analysis and ensures adherence to all program regulations. Develops and tests recipes that meet nutrition standards and appeal to students. Oversees daily lunch counts, inventory, ordering, and required program records. Supervises food service staff and daily operations, including meal preparation, serving, and equipment maintenance. Assumes leadership duties in the absence of the Director of Food Services.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Associate of Arts degree from a nationally approved accredited college or university in food service management, or nutrition or related field. • Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated school cafeteria supervisory experience or highly related experience. • Possess a high school diploma or its equivalency. • Possess and maintain ServSafe certificate and Valid CDL certificate • Must demonstrate good physical health and hygiene practices. • Demonstrated ability to supervise personnel • A pre-placement medical assessment is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. • Must have exhibited regular and punctual attendance in previous employment or job assignment • Must possess a valid California Drivers License • Must pass D.O.J. background check • Must pass a TB test/assessment * Must pass a District Administered Nutrition Specialist Exam - Only qualified applicants will be contacted to schedule exam.
