What are the responsibilities and job description for the Handyman Helper position at Chosen Repairs & Maintenance?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Handyman Helper to assist in performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance, along with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead handyman with tasks such as repairs, installations, and maintenance projects
- Load, unload, and organize tools and materials
- Perform basic maintenance duties (e.g., painting, sanding, caulking, light carpentry)
- Clean and prepare job sites before and after work is completed
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Run errands and pick up supplies as needed
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients when necessary
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in a handyman, construction, or maintenance role is a plus but not required
- Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and repair techniques
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Punctual, dependable, and eager to learn
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
- Pay: $17 - $25/hr DOE, 1099 Contract Employee
- Benefits: Direct Deposit
