What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Chore Operator (HCO) position at ChoreOFF?
Overview
ChoreOFF is hiring House Chore Operators, also called HCOs, to complete short, focused home Reset visits across Madison and Dane County.
We are a tech-enabled home reset service, not a traditional deep cleaning company. Each visit is based on a checklist the customer builds when booking. Tasks may include dishes, laundry, kitchen reset, bathroom reset, tidying, bed making, fridge refresh, dog walks, plant watering, quick errands, and more. We currently offer over 40 add-on services!
You follow the customer’s selected tasks, complete the checklist, confirm the work in the HCO app, and move on. No upselling. No scope creep. We handle scheduling, payment, and customer communication. Customer provides all supplies that are required for the reset.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role. You can accept or decline available jobs in the app based on your schedule. No minimum hours, no exclusivity, no shifts. Painless.
Pay
- $75 base per Reset 50% of any paid add-ons the customer books (add-ons range from $5-$25/each).
- Typical Reset: $85–$110 for 60–90 minutes
- Most active HCOs earn around $30–$45/hour after drive time and unbooked gaps.
- Visits usually run 60 minutes to around 3 hours depending on what the customer booked.
- Paid weekly via Stripe direct deposit.
Bonuses
$5–$25 per approved social media post about a Reset, optional
$20 per HCO you refer who completes their first job (they also get $20)
