What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Technician II (Chestertown) position at Choptank Electric Cooperative?
Education
High School graduate or equivalent is preferred. Courses in basic electricity are desirable. Applicant is required to enroll in the Northwest Lineman's College General Utility Worker Program and complete the program within two years.
Experience
Six (6) months' experience in electrical field is desirable. Experience in warehousing and handling of materials is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
A basic knowledge of electricity is preferred. Should be familiar with first aid and CPR. Knowledge of service area is desirable.
Should be able to communicate well with members and the public. Must have a valid Class "A Restricted" or equivalent driver's license and have passed a written examination and road test as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Must be able to accurately complete required reports using various software and Microsoft Office Suite products.
Working Conditions
Outside work under various weather conditions and subject to irregular hours. Required to reside within a twenty-five (27) mile radius of the reporting location and on the Delmarva Peninsula.
Physical Requirements
Required to pass a physical examination and drug/alcohol test prior to employment and must continue to pass physical examinations and drug/alcohol tests required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and will be required to bend, stoop, reach, extend the body, and lift various objects.
