Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Behavioral Health Residential Facility (BHRF)

Cholla Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our Behavioral Health Residential Facility (BHRF) in West Phoenix.
As a BHT, you'll play an important role in supporting adults on their recovery journey by providing daily supervision, skill-building, crisis support, transportation, and encouragement in a safe, trauma-informed residential environment.

- Sunday - Monday, day & overnight shifts available
What You'll Do
- Provide direct care and supervision for residents in a residential treatment setting.
- Support residents in achieving their treatment goals and developing independent living skills.
- Assist with the self-administration of medications in accordance with Arizona regulations and agency policy.
- Facilitate daily activities, groups, recreation, and community outings.
- Monitor resident behavior and document observations in the electronic health record.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral health crises using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
- Transport residents to appointments and community activities as needed.
- Collaborate with therapists, nurses, case managers, and the treatment team to support resident success.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- High school diploma or GED and at least 6 months of behavioral health experience, or 1 year of full-time work experience
- Associate degree (or higher) in a behavioral health-related field
- Completion of an approved Behavioral Health Technician training program
- Licensed or certified healthcare professional with behavioral health experience
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid Arizona driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Level One Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass background screening
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to remain calm during crisis situations
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Residential behavioral health experience
- Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- CPR/First Aid certification
- CPI or other crisis prevention training
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR)
