Stipend Position - Teacher of Record for Math @ Choices

 2 positions available - Pay is $500 stipend per grading period

Position:                          Teacher of Record - Math @ Choices

Reports to:                      School Principal or Designee

Employment Status:       After Hours for 30-40 students

FLSA Status:                   Exempt

Description:                    After Hours work for a certified 7-12 Math Teacher

NOTE:                               The below lists are not ranked in order of importance

Essential Functions:

• Be teacher of record for math students at Choices
• Post grades for students
• Utilize Courseware Software as curriculum
• Assign courses as needed through the software program
• Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
• Observe ethics of the teaching profession

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner
• Serve as a role model for students
• Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university
• Appropriate state of Ohio certifications/license - 7-12 Math
• Prior teaching experience is preferable
• Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate

• Knowledge of academic area and teaching methodology
• Ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing

• Organizational and problem solving skills
• Training in varied instructional design
• Knowledge of child development and an understanding of age appropriate tasks
• Background/knowledge base in methodology and supervised practice
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Computer/word processing skills

Additional Working Conditions:

• Occasional requirement to travel daily and overnight
• Occasional interaction among unruly children
• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
• Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop
• Frequent operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions, i.e., being prepared to come to work on all scheduled work days, except calamity days
• Frequent weekend/evening/summer work
• Requirement to lift and/or carry up to a maximum of 75 pounds, and push/pull up to a maximum of 300 pounds, various supplies and/or equipment
