Role Description
The OB Sonographer will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assess and monitor the health and development of the fetus, while adhering to high standards of patient care and safety. This part-time, on-site role is based in Smithfield, NC and involves collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate records and exceptional service. The OB Sonographer will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment, maintaining patient records, and providing a supportive and respectful environment for clients. Hours per week can be flexible with as little as 8 hours per week up to 24 hours possible per week.
Qualifications
- Certification or eligibility for certification with ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) and/or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Expertise in performing medical ultrasound exams, including OB/GYN and related radiologic procedures
- Proficiency in vascular imaging techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and teamwork
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and providing compassionate care in a non-judgmental environment
- Preferred qualifications: Experience in obstetrics and gynecology sonography and familiarity with current diagnostic ultrasound technologies
- Completion of an accredited ultrasound technology or radiologic program
