Job Overview
We are looking a professional, dependable, motivated person who is passionate about caring for individuals with developmental disabilities & behavioral issues.
This position would be perfect for someone wanting a part time weekend only job.
Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
Assists clients in all activities of daily living and goals set in their personal plan.
The client will be picked up at their home in Bloomingdale and transported to scheduled activities in Savannah each Saturday and Sunday, and supervised/ supported as they participate in those activities.
Accurately complete daily documentation and other record keeping duties online and carry out all assignments as required.
Willing and able to competently perform all duties, and follow instructions, policies and procedures set by Choices of Change and all regulating agencies.
Willing to travel to Dublin for trainings.
Minimum Requirements:
· Must have reliable transportation and can provide valid proof of car insurance for said automobile & a good 7 year motor vehicle report
· Must have a current valid Driver’s License & Social Security card or work visa
· Must pass local and national background criminal background check
· Must have TB test results & physical (less than a year old)
· Must have or be willing to get CPR/First Aid Certified within 60 days
· Must have access to internet daily
Duties
- Provide companionship to promote social engagement and emotional well-being
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, home care, working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Certification in First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Basic Life Support (BLS), and crisis intervention techniques required or obtainable upon hire
- Ability to work with patients with cognitive disabilities or mental health conditions while maintaining patient safety and dignity
- Strong communication skills for caregiver interactions, patient reporting, and teamwork
- Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities if required for client transportation or errands
