Growing grant writing firm with locations in Hudson Valley and Ithaca, NY seeks experienced grant writer/researcher for ongoing work with existing and new clients. Applicants should have experience working with nonprofits in the healthcare sector. A combination of experience developing and writing proposals for federal, state, corporate and private foundations is a must. Applicants must reside in New York State to be considered.
Successful candidates will be highly professional, have strong organizational and communication skills, time-management skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams. Candidates should be able to handle multiple clients with multiple deadlines at one time. Candidates must be highly self-motivated. Positions will start at 15-20 hours/week, with the opportunity to increase these hours. Flexibility is a must. Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
Starting Salary range:
$28,800-$48,000
Required:
Minimum level of education: Bachelor’s degree
Technology: Comfort with Zoom, virtual work, Google suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Grants Gateway/SFS (NY grants systems), Grants.gov

Responsibilities and Duties
Research grant opportunities most suitable for the client.
Work with clients to develop LOIs, proposals, and applications for funding
Maintain organized files and folders for clients as well as project-tracking sheets
File submissions on time with all required attachments
Work independently and effectively in a home office or virtual environment
Keep accurate logs of time worked on behalf of each client
Communicate with Choice Words' teammates effectively
Approximately 15-20 hours per week with growth potential
Qualifications and Skills
Successful experience as a grant writer.
Some experience working with healthcare nonprofits
Experience as head grant writer on federal funding requests is preferred.
Research skills (familiarity with Instrumentl preferred)
