Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, bed making, bathroom sanitation, and replenishing amenities to uphold high standards of cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms by sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces regularly.
- Handle cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols to ensure a secure environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to linen carts, cleaning supplies, and furniture moving while adhering to manual handling safety procedures.
- Follow hotel housekeeping management procedures for sanitation, safety, and emergency protocols to guarantee guest safety at all times.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for additional amenities or special cleaning needs with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial services is highly preferred; familiarity with industrial cleaning and custodial practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including chemical handling for various surfaces such as carpets, tiles, and hardwood floors.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools efficiently.
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards and hotel emergency procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward guest interactions.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive cleaning duties.
- Ability to read safety data sheets (SDS) and handle chemical agents responsibly in compliance with health regulations.
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience or hospitality background is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
