About This Opportunity
The Enterprise Systems Analyst 1 (ESG Analyst 1) monitors and analyzes the network for problems and depending on the problem complexity and resolution time constraints, either solve the problem or escalates the problem to more senior staff for resolution. Upon successful resolution, the ESG Analyst 1finalizes the task and communicates with the appropriate stakeholders according to Choice Hotels incident management policies. The ESG Analyst 1also documents each incident and resolution steps for future reference. In addition, ESG analyst 1 monitors and complete jobs, alerting other groups to incidents, following procedures, documentation, occasional data center work and all other duties as assigned.
Reports to Manager, Network Operations
Your Contribution
- Monitor and troubleshoot enterprise applications and compute infrastructure and systems.
- Diagnose enterprise systems alerts, events or issues using corporate monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Grafana and applicable cloud monitoring applications.
- 1-year experience in server or desktop support required.
- Understanding of computer networking required.
- Understanding of incident handling required.
- Knowledge of Windows, Apple, Cisco, VPN, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work collaboratively with ESG Analyst 2 & 3, and Site Reliability Engineer’s (SRE) to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Fundamentals of Networking and switching.
- Ability to provide updates, control incident, and effectively take meeting notes during all incidents severity.
- Ensure Incident management tracking and trending analysis processes are followed with the use of tools such as ServiceNow and Everbridge.
- Report all service impacting issues within SLA’s approved expectations.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekend, as well as participate in a 24x7 on-call onsite or offsite IT mindset.
- Partner with other teams within the organization to deploy changes, monitor releases, hotfixes, and maintenance.
- Provide an On-call emergency request for Service Desk after hours. According to Choice Hotels On-call policies.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or technology related field, 1 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of server hardware and components.
- Must have foundational knowledge of AWS, Unix, and Linux administration utilities.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years Knowledge of Incident Management, and Change Management tools/processes.
- Preferred 1 years of documentation experience
- Preferred 2 years of application, hardware, and server support experience.
- Preferred 1 years of network monitoring.
