Orthodontic Dental AssistantÂ
Summary
The Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the New Mexico dental standards.
This position will mainly focus on taking x-rays/photos and maintaining orthodontic patient records. This is a part time position working Wednesdays and Thursdays.

- Assists the doctor in procedures
- Takes x-raysÂ
- Takes IO'sÂ
- Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teethÂ
- Instructs patients on oral hygieneÂ
- Charts cavities and teeth with doctorÂ
- Sterilizes instrumentsÂ
- Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygieneÂ
- Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctorÂ
Education and/or Experience:
- Certification from a dental college OR t
Required Certificates Or Licenses
- X-Ray New Mexico certification with license number
- BLS certificationÂ
Certificates or Licenses:
- Topical Fluoride New Mexico Certification
- Sealant New Mexico Certification
- Coronal Polish New Mexico Certification with License numberÂ
